We need all three. The State of North Carolina is losing the battle against the opioid epidemic. In 2023 the NCDHHS announced a 22% increase in opioid overdose deaths the previous year. People have been dying at an alarming rate since 2000. we don't need more high priced advertisements telling people not to do drugs. Just say no, never worked. WE need accessible affordable treatment.
People, yes, people, someone's son, daughter, parent, grandchild, friend, loved one suffers from the disease of opioid substance use disorder. Many die. Far too many die without help. Evidence suggests that anyone who uses opioids will eventually have an overdose. Fentanyl is making sure of this.
